HANS device labelling

There are two types of FIA label, those for HANS devices produced pre-01/01/13 (no hologram) and those produced post-01/01/13 (with a hologram). Both of these are currently valid for FIA and MSA competition. If you click on the image above you will see examples of the labels.

These HANS device labels are usually situated on the head board of the device on the side that would be facing the back of the helmet when the device is worn correctly. However some newer designs of devices do not have this board. In these cases the label is underneath one of the removable shoulder straps on the device.

It is important to care for your HANS device correctly. If the hologram and/or label become removed from the device then the device will not pass an MSA or FIA scrutineering. This would mean that you would need to purchase a new device.
