AP Racing - Balance Bar/Cable (Formula Student)

AP Racing offer a range of balance bars and adjuster cables. A balance bar allows you to adjust the distribution of pressure delivered to the front or rear calipers. This is usually determined by the front/rear weight distribution (the axel with the greater mass will require more pressure). A balance bar cable allows for easy adjustment of the balance bar (in most cases this can be adjusted by the driver but some championships allow for a balance bar cable but only if it is out of reach of the driver).

CP5500 & CP5507 Balance Bars
The CP5500-9 and CP5500-9UNF are standard duty balance bars. These balance bars pivot on a spherical bearing and have a rubber boot to protect against dirt/grit (a non-rubber boot version is also available, CP5500-4). The UNF version is suitable for PRT master cylinders.
The CP5507-2 balance bar is similar to the CP5500, however it is suitable for heavy duty applications.
Both the CP5500 and CP5507 ranges of balance bars are suited to CP2623 push rod master cylinders.

CP5520 Balance Bars
If you are using a trunnion mounted master cylinder (such as CP7854) then the CP5520 are the range of balance bars you require. The CP5520-3 is an angled trunnion suitable if you are mounting the master cylinder to an angle of 13.50° - 14.50°. If you are mounting the master cylinder flat then you will require the CP5520-4 balance bar. Both of these balance bars pivot on a spherical bearing.

The CP5520-25LC balance bars are similar to the able but pivot differently. These are suited to CP7855 master cylinders.

CP2905 Balance Bar Cables
This is AP Racing's range of cable adjusters allow for the balance bar to be altered. These cables are available in either 900mm or 1800mm lengths and either with or without connectors.
