Super B Batteries
These lightweight Super B lithium ion batteries are designed to replace the much heavier
lead/acid batteries. Super B Lithium batteries are based on Lithium Iron Phosphate technology
and is the safest Lithium Ion technology available. The specially designed casing and
electronics further increase safety and durability.
Advantages over the standard batteries include: Up to 80% lighter, recharges within 5
minutes of engine start, smaller casing, 5 year service life and has a low self-discharge
rate.
Super B use a 10-second rating for starting current instead of CCA. The 10-second
rating is easy to understand: it represents the amount of current a battery can produce
during 10 seconds without being damaged. The batteries can deliver higher currents for
shorter periods and lower currents for longer periods.
Operating Temperature -20°c to +60°c & 13.2V Operating Voltage.

As well as the Lithium Ion battery, Raceparts can also supply your Formula Student team with everything else you'll need to run these batteries. Sturdy and lightweight battery brackets are available for these Super B lithium batteries and are custom designed for each model. We can also supply the battery charger. You must not use a normal battery charger with these batteries as it will shorten their life. A special Lithium charger will give you the best results.
